A ranking you can follow from source to score.
Every result comes from the publicly available National Student Survey. Here is exactly what is included, what is left out, and how movement is calculated.
Take the common questions
We use positivity measure percentages from column P of the CAH level 3, All undergraduates data. Theme summary rows are ignored. Only Q1–Q26 are included because they are common to every nation and year in the data supplied.
Require the closing year
The current table requires NSS 2026; it averages 2025+2026 where both exist. The comparator requires NSS 2025; it averages 2024+2025 where both exist. An earlier-year-only record is excluded.
Give each question equal influence
In the standard tables, every one of the 26 questions has a weight of 1/26. Subject scores are the mean of those question averages. Overall provider scores give every eligible subject equal weight.
From two annual values to one score
For each eligible provider, subject and question:
NSS 2026 data is required for the current table. Where an individual question is missing or suppressed, the mean uses the available common questions; no missing value is treated as zero.
Current evidence is required.
A provider or subject without published NSS 2026 results is excluded from the current table. New providers with 2026 data remain eligible even if 2025 is unavailable.
Both years contribute to the score.
The latest year is present, so the provider is eligible and has no previous position.
Used overall when every included subject has 2026 data but only some also have 2025.
The 26 common questions
These are the only question rows used in standard and personalised tables. Q27 and Q28 are excluded because they are nation-specific alternatives.

Why a university moved up—or down
Providers are ordered by the unrounded score, highest first. The movement beside the current position is its previous position minus its current position. A provider absent from the eligible prior comparison is labelled “New”. Displayed scores are rounded to two decimal places only after ranking.
These are rolling-window tables, not single-year tables. “Current” means the 2025+2026 window and requires 2026; “previous” means 2024+2025 and requires 2025. A 2026-only provider is therefore current and New. A 2025-only provider is not current and is excluded.
